Local Charity Support

1746_1The theme of our Rotary Club this year is to “Get Dirty”  That is roll up our shirt sleaves and get dirty giving back to the community.  Our monthly “get dirty” project is volunteering at the Lake City North Helpline. We will be “Getting Dirty” at North Helpline from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. the third Thursday of the month. To volunteer with the food bank everyone MUST complete an application prior to volunteering.  The link is here.  Just press the red button “Volunteer Info and Application”.  North Helpline needs a head-count before our arrival every week. If you want to volunteer at North Helpline or would like some more information about our club please send either our President Jennifer Sehlin @ jsehlin@grlg.net or Joel Calvert @ joelcalvert@allstate.com an email.

Rotary Service Above Self

rotaryfirsthavestYour Rotary Club of Seattle Northeast giving back to the community.  Another fun event at Rotary First Harvest in Kent repackaging produce for our local food banks.  Another example of Rotarians at Work “Getting Dirty” and putting service before self. As both a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and a program of Rotary District 5030,  RFH works with farmers, truckers, volunteers and others to bring valuable skills and resources into hunger relief efforts in communities across Washington state.

scoutsFor over 10 years your Rotary Club of Seattle Northeast has partnered with the Boy Scouts Troop 850 to bring meals for the less fortunate.  This year again we have assembled the baskets and had the Cub Scouts of Troop 850 delivered them. It felt so good to start our Holiday season knowing the we had reached out and helped the community that we live in.
